Yom Shli-shi, Tishri 19, 6002 – October 10, 2017
Edify One Another
We are called to be lights and to shine before the whole world.
Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
As I read this verse just now, it is the first time that I saw that it was referring to our good works. What Yeshuah (Jesus) said next would seem to fit with that statement.
Matthew 4:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Is it possible that the good works we are to do is contained in the Law, the Torah? One thing is for sure, we are to be helpful to one another. We are meant to build each other up. If we do these things, then we in fact will be lights. Lights of hope and happiness in an otherwise dark place.
Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King! Praise the name YAH! Let Your will be here among us as it is with You. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed or transgressed against us. Wipe away all thoughts and memories of evil done to us or by us. In their place let their be only thoughts and memories of You. Heal us from the inside. Deliver us from the evil here. Restore one thousandfold all of the good that has been taken or held back in any way from Your people, and the more besides. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). We ask all these things of You, Father, in Your name, YAH! Amen.
