Yom Shli-Shi, Shevat 25, 6001 – January 24, 2017
Desire To Build
Before one begins any construction, there is a desire to build it. That desire is not for the building itself, but for the purpose that building will serve. The same is true for us in our relationship to the Father. There must first be a desire to be with Him at all times. Then comes the willingness to be humble, realizing we are truly powerless to do anything lasting without Him. He alone was the Creator of this place we live, and the heavens above.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
We begin with us. We must realize that there is nothing we can do of ourselves. We must then believe that Our Father is the only source of true life, and that He will give it to us, if He is sought. This is the only way to truly establish the foundation for building anything of value with our Father. He seeks the humble heart, the desire to build rightly.
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
God gives us the desire to build with Him. If we humble ourselves, He will give us grace. If we humble ourselves, we will be lifted up when we draw close to Him. This is His desire, that we purify our hearts and minds.
Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are our Creator King. Without You there is no hope, for You have established Your will in the heavens, and You alone can establish Your will in us if we will humble ourselves. Send us today Your provision. Forgive us, we ask humbly, for our sins. Heal our hearts, and cleanse us. Heal our minds that we think on You. Restore unto Your people the land that it might be healed. Restore unto Your people all that has been taken or held back in any way, and the more besides. We need what to us seems like miracles. We need Your covering and forgiveness and mercy and defense. Rise up now, O King, and restore. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.
