Yom Shi-shi, Tishri 22, 6002 – October 13, 2017

The Eighth Day

In scripture the 22nd of Tishri is an important day. It is the day after the Feast of Tabernacles that is a Sabbath – a high holy day some call it. It is written about in the Torah.

Leviticus 23:33 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.
35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
37 These are the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
38 Beside the sabbaths of the Lord, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the Lord.
39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.

Many of us have come to understand, based on the account of John the Baptist’s family, that our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus) was born on the 15th of Tishri. That being said, then the 22nd of Tishri would have been the day of His circumcision. The ramifications of that are significant.

Let us ponder our Messiah and His sacrifice for us, giving thanks and praise.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King! Praise the name YAH! Let Your will be done here as it is in heaven. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed or transgressed against us. Wipe away all the thoughts and memories of evil done to us or by us. In their place let there be only thoughts and memories of You. Deliver us from the evil here, and heal us from the inside out. Restore unto Your people one thousandfold all that has been taken or held back in any way from Your people of that which is good, and the more besides. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). We ask all these things of You, Father, in Your name, YAH! Amen.
