Yom Shabbat, Sivan 24, 6003 – June 9, 2018

Peaceful Rest

Resting on the Sabbath is more than sleeping. It includes letting go. We have six days to work hard and to do that which is good in the sight of God and man with regard to providing for our families. On the seventh day, YAH commands us to stop our regular work and do what is good in His sight – seeking Him, praising Him, and thinking on Him. The Sabbath is one of the moedym – high holy days – set apart by YAH.

Leviticus 23:1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

So in the keeping of the commandments of our Father, we are to recognize certain days as set apart (holy). The Sabbath is one of those days. This can be a challenge for us because at least in the US, we were taught differently. But like so many other things we have been taught, we were taught the traditions of men, and not the commandments of God. Each of us has to decide whom we will listen to and serve. This has been so since the Garden. We choose. And we live with the result. Joshua was clear for himself and his family.

Joshua 24:13 And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.
14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Today, like every day, we choose whom we will serve. Our choices are made know by our words and our deeds.

Choose.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King. Praise the name YAH! Let Your kingdom come here in the hearts and minds of YAH. Let Your will be done here on this earth perfectly, as it is in heaven. Send us today Your provision that it might overflow to those around us. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed or transgressed against us. Deliver us from the evil here, and in the air. Wipe away all thoughts and memories of the evil done to us or by us. In their place let there be only thoughts and memories of You and Your love toward us. Restore unto Your people of all the good that was eaten or taken or held back in any way, one thousandfold and the more besides. Send in quickly the $423,923,962.53 that we might use it to promote the kingdom of God in the hearts and minds of mankind. We need you wo reveal to us the truth that we might walk with You in it. We love You. Be our God and we will be Your people, doing all You command. We ask all these things of You in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). We ask all these things of You, Father, in Your name YAH. We ask all these things in the name YAH Yeshuah. Amen.
