Fighting Back

For many of us as believers we have spent much of our lives fighting for our “spot” in own own lives. By that I mean we are on the defensive much of the time. When we spend that time struggling for what is our own place, we cannot battle for new territory. That may well be the plan of our enemy. That plan: to keep us reeling just from regular blows in our daily lives so that we are not a threat elsewhere. We can overcome that likely in more than one way, but one way is to fight back.

James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

It seems that one way is to simply resist the enemy. We do that by verbally stating that we resist. Much of our fighting is with our lips to turn our own hearts and minds.

Romans 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We can miss something quite valuable here. Paul is quoting Moses twice. Moses said what is in verse five. But it is Moses that Paul quotes for verses six – eight.

Deuteronomy 30:6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

Our Father Yahuah (Lord) does a work in our heart based on the words that come out of our mouth. We can literally speak to ourselves about the good things of God and change our hearts and minds! This is the ultimate resistance in may ways because we can say these things. If we cannot speak, then we need input in other ways, but the input controls the output, and we can control that input.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King. Praise the name YAH! Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in the hearts of mankind. Send us Your provision now. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed or transgressed against us. Deliver us from the evil here in our hearts and minds and lives. Wash away the thoughts and memories of the evil done to us or by us. Restore unto Your people all that has been taken or held back in any way, and the more besides. Send in quickly the $424,523,962.53 that we might feed Your people, and care for their needs. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). We ask all these things of You, Father, in Your name YAH. We ask all these things in the name YAH Yeshuah. Amen.
