Yom Rishon, Tevet 4, 6004 – December 1, 2019
Comfort In Pain
There are those that come against us in the least suspected moments and places. Often these are those close to us. Because they are close, it can be painful. How should we respond? Like Yeshuah did. He was able to respond in that way because He had a pure heart, and because He saw a bigger picture. Our hearts are something each of us must work on continually. The bigger picture we can see if we just stop to think about it.
Hurt people hurt people. It is likely not intentional. But we have been given a specific ministry.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
It is a natural desire to seek comfort. We all do. But there might be a way to get the comfort we seek differently than we suspect.
Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Today, if we need comforting, we need only to comfort others. If we will work on our hearts to make them pure, then we will have the kingdom within us, and we will receive from men that which we give.
