Yom Shabbat, Sixth Month 4, 6006 – August 21, 2021

Father Of Lights

Although I thought I had already written this, I discovered that I did not and I am attempting to back track and fix it now.

In scripture we are told that every good gift is from YAH. As I was sharing this in the morning in my E3 Outreach on FaceBook, I realized something that I want to memorialize here.

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

YAH is the Father of lights. I always “ran” past this scripture before. If He is our Father and the Father of lights, are we not light? And “hearers only” refers to the word of God. So if I am a “hearer”, does that not mean that it is audible and not written? The word for “word” here is logos, which actually means something spoken including the thought. the Bible is scripture, not the word of God. Equally interesting here is the word for “doers” means poet. After thinking on this more it does explain why both poetry and songs move people. They are meant to move people. They are meant to be oral and heard.

Shabbat Shalom.

Prayer
Father, I exalt You. You alone are King. Praise the name YAH! Praise the name YAHUAH. Let Your kingdom come here, and let Your will be done here, on earth as it is in heaven. Send me now Your provision that I might cast it upon the waters. I love You. Forgive me my trespasses and transgressions, and help me to forgive those that have trespassed or transgressed against me YAH. Keep me from the temptations here. Deliver me from the evil and the evil plans men have for me. I love You. I love You. I ask all these things of You Father King in the name YAH Yeshuah HaMashiach. Amen.
