Newness Of Heart

We are given a new heart as believers, or at least that is what we are taught. But what does that mean? Well, likely it means that our heart is like our Father’s heart, I would guess. We have emotions more like God. Caring, loving, laughing, and so on are all things that I imagine Him doing. I do wonder about laughter though.

What is it like when God laughs? Does the ground shake here? Who does He slap on that back and say, “Good one! That was a good one!?” When He laughs, what to the angels do that are singing, “Glory, glory, glory” continually? Do they break character and snicker? Do they have midair collisions over the throne from their own laughter or the vibrations of His?

Anyway, if we have a clean heart, like David spoke about, what does that mean? Well, there is a scripture or two that reveals a part of this.

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

It appears we can take comfort in knowing that YAH (the Lord) will place in us the Law with the spiritual understanding that Yeshuah (Jesus) was giving us that it is about changing on the inside. It is not the letter, although that is an important minimum. It is about the Knowing how to apply it on a deeper level.

Matthew 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Today, we can take comfort in knowing that our Father has provided for us to experience newness of heart. We just need to be willing.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King. Praise the name YAH! Let Your kingdom come here in the hearts and minds and bodies of the people here. Let Your will be done perfectly as it is in heaven. Send us now Your overwhelming provision that we might overflow to those around us. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed or transgressed against us. Deliver us from the evil here. Wipe away all thoughts and memories of the evil done to us or by us. In their place let there be only thoughts and memories of You and Your love for us. Restore Your people. Restore all that the worm has eaten. Restore one thousandfold all that the enemy has taken or held back in any way from Your people, and the more besides. Send in quickly the $423,523,962.53 that we might use it to promote the kingdom of God in the hearts and minds and bodies of the people here. We ask all these things of You, Father, in the name YAH Yeshauh HaMashiak. Amen.
