Psalm 121 Along of Degrees

A Song of degrees.
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
From whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD,
Which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
He that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper:
The LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil:
He shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
From this time forth, and even for evermore.

The Journey

In early biblical times the Jewish people made the trek to Jerusalem three times a year, including Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The road there was an inclined upward road. There is a series of Psalms they would sing on the journey. This year my posts will be these Psalms until they are completed.

Psalm 120 A Song of degrees.
1 In my distress
I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.
2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips,
And from a deceitful tongue.
3 What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.
5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech,
That I dwell in the tents of Kedar!
6 My soul hath long dwelt
With him that hateth peace.
7 I am for peace:
But when I speak, they are for war.

No Shadow Of Turning

Today is the day of the no shadow of turning. Tequfah in the spring marks the end of the previous year. Praise YAH!

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Rest With The Best

Just had to say something here about the new year upon us. So much has been happening. Rest today!

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Working To The End Goal

We all have a plan. Our plan is to finish the race set before us. If we can finish the plan, finish the race, we win. And no matter what, we can finish this race!

Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Thank You For Balance

It is at this time of year, each year, that I try to better understand how it is that we have the days we have. There remains a piece of the puzzle not clear to me. There are the days that hang in the balance. Why are they there? Great question, and maybe that is the point. To be a question.

Psalm 100 A Psalm of praise.
1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2 Serve the LORD with gladness: Come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the LORD he is God:
It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Almost Done

Here we are at the end of another year and what a year! Our Father delivers us from the enemy and the evil that is with the enemy. We prevail, always! Praise YAH!

Psalm 118:5 I called upon the LORD in distress:
The LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
6 The LORD is on my side;
I will not fear: What can man do unto me?
7 The LORD taketh my part with them that help me:
Therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
8 It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the LORD
Than to put confidence in princes.
10 All nations compassed me about:
But in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.

Helping You Win

One of the privileges I have in life is to help others win. That may seem like an odd thing to. say, but we are meant to help others for sure. So I consider it a good thing when I get that chance. Praise YAH!

Colosians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Keep Doing It!

The one thing that strikes me is how I personally can forget to do certain things on a regular basis. I do remember to pray everyday. But do I encourage myself and others everyday? No, not always. And the funny thing is, I have that as an intention. Yet, I let the days get away from me at times. Today, I choose not to let that happen. Today I will encourage someone.

Proverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD
Are riches, and honour, and life.

One Day

One day we will all make the journey up to Jerusalem! I look forward to that day. To that end I am going to post the songs we will sing each day. Imagine us making this journey every year and knowing we are headed to see the King! Praise YAH! What an amazing comfort to know that we serve the King!
