Starting New

Each week we start new. We actually start each day new, just as our Father does.

Lamentations 3:22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

And what should we do with each work day? Solomon said it best.

24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.

Today we can take comfort in that which is good.

Clear Sight

We have access to seeing clearly. When I wrote that just now, it seemed odd, at least on the surface. But if we think about it, we can probably all remember times when What we thought or what we knew was something different from what we thought or knew previously. What really changed? In many cases the answer will be, our perspective. If we are willing to change our perspective, our way of seeing things, then we can approach clear sight.

2 Corinthians 5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

When we are presented with the option of reconciling with God, what does that mean, and what do we do about it? It means, in part, that we exchange what we have been doing wrong for what our Messiah did with His death and resurrection. We exchanged evil for good, transgressions of the Law (sin) for the righteousness of God. In that moment we make the trade, we are clean, until the next moment we need to make the trade again. As far as what to do about it, it’s simply complex. Make the trade. Lay down the evil for the good that our Messiah wants to give us. Righteous of God in Him – the ability to stand with our Father and not be condemned to death for the transgressions of the Law (sins).

This day, the Sabbath, is a good day for each of us to pray about what is the need for us as individuals to make the trade, and get to the place of right standing with our Father.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King. Praise the name YAH! Let Your kingdom come here. Let Your kingdom come here, and fill the hearts and minds and bodies of the people, which is Your will, just as heaven is perfectly filled. Send us now Your provision. Energy For Change

From scripture it seems that there is a certain amount of energy behind every change.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Here is an example of the effectual fervent prayers of Elijah. In the Greek the word for “effectual fervent” is energeo which means power to bring an actual effect or result. In this case, prayer brought drought and another prayer brought rain. Also notice, Elijah had all the same “passions” meaning the sames emotions as us, the same feeling as us. But when necessary, he was able to focus and pray with enough energy to get a result.

If we want real change in our lives and the lives of others, it will take energy. We will need to understand all we can about energy, what it is, and how it operates. With that understanding, and all our frailties, we must pray. Then we will see the changes we seek.

Gratitude At All Times

The last couple days have taught me one thing, which I love to learn over and over and over. Thankfulness towards our Father is a very important thing in our life. If we can focus on our Father from the time we go to bed to the time we wake up to the time we go to bed – at all times – life will be much better than we could have imagined. IN the end, He is all each individual has. That relationship comes to us through our calling out to Him for salvation through our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). It is that opening in the universe to peace with God, now and forever, that makes this life worth the living.

Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Prayer

Head On

To win a battle, we must face the battle head on. That can be a challenge for us for sure as many if not most of us have never been to war. We are trained through movies and TV that even the most deadly of battles is 2D and only audio/visual. Although I only have as a point of reference what I have been told by friends, there is far more to it than that. I have known situations in which people were badly injured in just routine life. In battle there are many sounds, like the clicking of bayonets by the enemy, the screams of friends and enemies wounded, and at times even tears. But there is also the smell of death…

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life.

We are called to speak out to the world the good news that God is on our side, and that He sent our Messiah to seal the deal!

Positive Energy?

Have you ever wondered about the talk about the idea of positive and negative energy, and just wondered if it was real? My first response to that would be how we feel when we experience people in certain ways. We can feel good or we can feel bad or we can feel nothing. Think about the extreme cases. When we feel overjoyed, or crushed, that has to be something, right? The items in between are different, but the changes are noticeable, from one state to the next. The inputs come in some form of energy – sound, light, etc. If it resonates with us and our goals, it is positive. If not, it is negative. This concept is not new as we can find it in scripture.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

If we want that positive energy, an easy way to get that is to join with someone and be that for someone else.

Do Everyday!

We are a people like any other. And yet, we have an eager expectation, a hope, for better things in this world. Ultimately, we are here to take back this world for our Father from the enemy. And no matter what else happens, that is going to happen! What does it take to stay the course and make it happen. We have to “see” it. Everyday we have to wake up with the expectation, of work on getting that back.

Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

One way we can “see” it and build our courage to press on is to pray in the Spirit until we do!

Welcoming The Spirit

In many services across the country this morning the idea will be put forward of welcoming the Spirit into the place of worship. Perhaps yet another approach would be welcoming the spirit into the place we are at all times. For example, this morning I sit at my kitchen table and look out into the snow covered forest. I want to be committed to change in my life, to become the best I can be for my Father and His work. Based on scripture I believe The Holy Spirit is in me having received the Messiah Yeshuah and his death and resurrection as redemption and then the immersion of the Holy Spirit.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

What can be good for me to help make that change or those changes happen more quickly is to have a welcoming attitude toward our Father YAH and toward the Holy Spirit, wanting to change. It is not easy for me, and I suggest not easy for many. And yet, we know from scripture that we are on this journey towards the Father, every moment changing to be more like Him.

Resting In Peace

It is a custom here to say about someone when they die, “Rest in peace.” As I sit here this Sabbath morning, I think about the day of rest that this is, and how we are to be at peace. Our peace that is our search is peace with God. If we can get to peace with God, which means no war, fullness of life, restoration, etc., then we can have everything we need. The good news is, we can! There has already been a death, that was our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). And when we accept that death, we die with Him, and we are no longer at enmity with God. It is a world where the carnal and the spiritual are not aligned. We are to bring the the Spirit into the world by exalting it over the carnal.

Romans 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

When we choose to observe the peace with YAH on the Sabbath, we continue the process of restoration in the earth. We bring peace to the earth.

Deliver us from the evil of thoughts, memories and emotions of the evil done to us or by us. In their place let there be only thoughts and memories and emotions of You. Restore unto Your people all that the worm has eaten. Restore unto Your people one thousandfold all the good that the enemy and his minions have taken or held back in any way from your people, and the more besides. We ask all these things of You Father, in the name YAH Yeshuah HaMoshiach. May it be so, my King. May You extend Your scepter and command the earth and all that is in it to break forth with abundance and blessing for us. Amen and Amen. Forever Amen.

Listening?

This morning as I await the sun, I have to wonder how we know if we are listening? What is involved in listening? If we hear something negative that goes against what we believe, is it from God? Is it the enemy, just because it is negative? If everything that does not line up with what we believe is from the dark side, how does God ever let us know that we need to make a course correction? Perhaps there is an answer in scripture.

John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

As believers, we should only hear the voice of God. Unfortunately, most of us would have to admit that we hear more than the voice of God. Perhaps if we will weep at the thought of that, and spend time crying out to God, we will learn to hear only the one voice, and not know the voice of another.
