Day 7 – Yom Sha-bat

Rest and Revelation

When we rest in the Father on the Sabbath, we have opportunity for Him to teach us what we might otherwise overlook. I saw many things like that in the teachings today. Our Father is revealing Himself more everyday, especially in these times. Today we saw that it is likely that there was always a spring festival that we now call Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. If this is accurate, and it appears that it is, what does that say about what might have always been? Is it possible that once there was a fall that there was a slightly different portrayal of what was always in place? I do not have the answer, but I do know that our Father is continuing to reveal Himself to us.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

It would appear a part of the purpose of our existence is to learn. We are to learn our Father’s ways. We are to emulate our Messiah, as He emulated the Father.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are King! Bless the name Yahuah! Let us be Your lights. Send us now Your provision. Forgive us our sins. Restore our hearts and minds. Deliver us from evil. Bless us more than the fathers before us. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yashuah (Jesus). Amen.

With Faith Rest Comes

Walking out our challenges with people is not always fun. Then of course, the other people might feel the same. Recently it occurred to me that when we have challenges with people, it is like any other challenge we face. We need to apply faith.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

If we can through faith set aside our differences, we can be at peace and rest on the Sabbath.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are our King! Bless the name Yahuah! Let us be light to a dark world. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal us inside and out. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundred times one hundredfold all that has been taken or held back. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Rest And Return

Today begins a long journey for my family and me. We journeyed to Florida from the Midwest and we begin the drive back today. It has been a restful and thoughtful time. We will be traveling the first of two days on the Sabbath. My wife reads the scriptures for this week aloud and we discuss them as we are driving. This morning I have been thinking about the days of the week. What would happen if we called the days of the week by the the numbers as they did in scripture? The answer is not clear to me. But it does make me wonder.

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Perhaps it is worth trying.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King! Praise the name Yahuah! Let us be Your light in this Earth. Send us now this day Your overwhelming abundant provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal us up inside and outside, and deliver us from the evil. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundred times one hundredfold that which has been taken or held back in any way from Your people, and more besides. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Rest Is A Choice

It occurs to me that everything in life is a choice, really. Even resting on the Sabbath. We can choose to rest with our Father, or not. It is very easy, for me at least, to get caught up in the day. But remembering to rest is a very good thing. If we can just remember to slow down, stop, and meditate on the good things of our Father, we can choose rest.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

We can enjoy our time with our Father, if we will just choose life.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are King! Bless the name Yahuah! Let us tell people, and show them, the wonders of Your kingdom. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal our hearts and minds. Deliver us from evil. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundred times one hundredfold all that has been taken or held back in any way from Your people, and more. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Reading Together

It is good when we can gather together as a group of believers and read the scriptures. There is something about hearing them out loud that is such a blessing. The Sabbath is a particularly good time for this. Rest and reflection go hand in hand.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are our King! Bless the name Yahuah! We will be Your lights to the world, shine through us. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal our hearts and minds. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundred times one hundredfold that which has been taken or held back in any way. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Scriptures Say It Best

There are times when the best thing to say is just a scripture. Today is one of those days for me.

Psalms 95
A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day.
1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
4 For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
5 O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

It is so good to sing to our Father. Let us sing.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King! Bless the name Yahuah! Let Your will permeate this Earth. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal our hearts and minds. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundred times one hundredfold all that has been taken or by any means held back from Your people such that their sudden prosperity is recorded in history. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

What Keeping Means

This morning as I consider the Sabbath, I try to grasp the concept of “keeping the Sabbath” in not just my mind, but in my spirit. I am slowly beginning to see that there is a level of interaction with our Father that I have not even perceived of in the past. It seems odd that this level of reality was not seen by me before, given all the interactions I have had with Him delivering me. There is a new sense of true dedication that one can obtain. Instead of Him seeming like just someone to know, it is like an ever present best friend or something.

Psalms 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are King! Bless the name Yahuah! We are Your lights. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Restore unto Your people health and prosperity, that others might know You alone are King. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Sabbaths And The Past

One thing that I like to do on the Sabbath is reflect on the days gone buy. The older I get, the more there is to reflect upon. Probably it is just that God is so good, and so forgiving, I feel so blessed.

Isaiah 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Let us keep the Sabbath with joy!

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are our King! We long to be Your lights in the earth. Praise the name Yahuah! Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal up our heaarts, and deliver us from the evil one. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundred times on hundredfold that which has been taken, held back, or in any way restricted from Your people. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

We Can

It is important that we believe. In fact, what we really believe tends to come to pass. If we can get an understanding of that, we will find ourselves in a better place in our lives, I suggest. When our words line up with the actions and the scriptures and what we want, then the power of God unfolds!

Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Keep our Father in all we do.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King! Praise the name Yahuah! Let us shine for You Father. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Restore unto Your people our health and prosperity. We ask these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

To Be Enlightened

One thing we do on the Sabbath is reflect on our Father’s way of being, His commands, and His teachings. Many things have been said about what we do, where we are at, who is saved or not, and on and on. For me, the Sabbath has a way of bringing us out of that. It helps us to find a path through the opinions, and just spend time with our Dad. the one thing I remember when these discussions come up is how even David, who did something hideous, delivered the line from which our Messiah would eventually arrive. I believe the most important thing is it has to be about turning. Turning away from any negative direction we may be going and turning into the light of our Father’s way and commands. David gave us an example.

Psalms 51:9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Today, let us be like David.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King! Praise the name Yahuah! Let us be Your light here. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal our hearts and minds. Deliver us from the evil that steals and destroys. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundred times one hundredfold that which has been taken, held back, or restricted in any way from us, Your people. Rise up my King! Defend Your people and Your land. You truly are King! We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.
