What Are The Odds?

We can get behind in our daily battles with the enemy. We that happens, it can seem like a great challenge to get back to the place we were, the get “caught up” to where it seems like everything is not so overwhelming. And we don’t really plan to get behind. We lose a little ground one day, then the next, and soon there are several days where we have not done all we feel we could or should to spend time with our Father. Sometimes it seems it cannot be helped – emergencies come up. Other times we let small things get in the way, thinking they are nothing. If we can remind ourselves, good times and bad, that this is really a battleground, then we will likely be more like David to cry out to the Father at all times.

Psalms 119:164 Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.
165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
166 Lord, I have hoped for thy salvation, and done thy commandments.
167 My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.
168 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my ways are before thee.

David knew that the battle belonged to Yahuah (Lord). He knew that his only hope was in the Father. But that hope was enough.

Psalms 63:6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

David was certain of one thing. Whether he stumbled or not, if he would get back up by calling out to God, God would uphold him. That made the odds 100% to his favor that he would win, because Yahuah (Lord) was on his side.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are King. We love and appreciate You. You alone are worthy of our praise. We praise the name Yahuah! Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal up our hearts and minds. Deliver us from the one that steals from us. Restore to Your people one hundred times one hundredfold that which has been taken. We ask these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Passover

Depending on which calendar we follow. this evening at Sundown is the beginning of Passover. WE eat the meal as a reminder of the mighty deliverance of our Father of the children of Israel from the bondage of slavery in Egypt. Our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus) was crucified at twilight on this day, for the deliverance of all mankind from the bondage of sin. The story goes back to the time of Exodus.

Exodus 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord’s passover.
12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are King. Bless the name Yahuah! Send us Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal us and deliver us. Let us awake wealthy free people. We ask that You help Your people now. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Blow By Blow

Growing up I can remember sports commentators referring to the reporting of a sporting event, especially boxing, as the blow by blow report. It was a magnificent era for boxing, and sports in general. This trait of wanting to see and/or hear the blow by blow description can get us lost in the wrong focus when it comes to spiritual warfare. Our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus) warned His disciples of this issue.

Luke 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

His point was not to rejoice in the power over evil, but rather that our Father had recorded our names in heaven and we would one day be there. Perhaps one reason is to focus on the Father, and not the enemy. There is much more to be learned from this, but for now, let us rejoice that our names are written in heaven!

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are King. We need Your kingdom in our lives. Bless the name of Yahuah! Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal us up from the inside. Deliver us from the evil one that steals and destroys. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundredfold all that has been taken. We ask these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Fighting When You Can’t

We all have times in our lives that are very good. Most of us also have had times not so good, or maybe even bad. But we all have the ability to move on to a better future. How do we do that? We keep fighting even when we can’t. The first reaction to that statement might be to say it doesn’t make sense. And yet it does we can fight when we do not have the strength to go on. We do that by using the tools given from the beginning.

Deuteronomy 30:9 And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the Lord will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:
10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

We fight by just refusing to give up. It is easy to win. Just be the last one to get back up off the mat.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are our King. Bless the name Yahuah! Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. We need Your healing touch in our hearts and minds. Deliver us from the one that steals and destroys. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundredfold. We ask these things in the name of our Messiah Yahuah (Jesus). Amen.

Fighting To Win

There can be times in our spiritual battles that we feel almost overrun. It can be very intense at times. But if we can remember in those times what we are fighting for is the kingdom of God in us and on the earth, we can also remember that the battle was already decided. God never loses.

Deuteronomy 31:3 The Lord thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the Lord hath said.
4 And the Lord shall do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed.
5 And the Lord shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you.
6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
7 And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the Lord hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.
8 And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

From the outset God has had a plan for these battles. We win, because He delivers them into our hands.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King. Praise Yah! Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal us and deliver us. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundredfold what has been repeatedly stolen. We ask these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

When Seeing Is Difficult

Today in north central Indiana we had a blizzard. As is normal in these weather conditions, there were times when I was driving that the blowing snow created a “white out” where nothing could be seen. In these times one has to slow down and really focus on the tasks at hand. The same is true in our spriritual travels. As we walk with God, there can be times when it becomes difficult to see. In those times we must overcome the desire to stop and turn back. We must press in to being what we are called to be.

Proverbs 4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Our Father’s words are what we need to help us see.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are King. We praise the name Yahuah! Send us Your overwhelming provision now. Forgive us our sins. Heal us and deliver us from the thief. We ask these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Fighting Under Pressure

We all fight our enemy as believers. We fight when we are aware of fighting. We fight when we are unaware that we are fighting. But we all fight. We know this because our enemy has one mission – our destruction in an attempt to destroy the kingdom. There are time when we fight even under extreme pressure. Illnesses of various types can be one of those tough times. Perhaps the very extreme illnesses are easier to take on the fight, because we know we must. But the nagging flu or cold can also put extra pressure on us. In these times (I am ill today myself) we can be encouraged to fight on by scripture.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:…

This is what our enemy ALWAYS is up to doing. But there is the other half of the verse.

John 10:10… I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

We must fight on, regardless of the pressure. To God be the glory!

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are King. Praise the name Yahuah! Send us now Your overwhelming abundant provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal our hearts and minds to serve You. Deliver us from the thief that steals our hope, our dreams, our desire for Your Torah, and our goods. Restore ALL of these one hundred times one hundredfold, and hundreds of hundreds. We ask these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Line Upon Line

When we battle our enemy, we sometimes have grand victories. Mostly, we will build little by little. This is the way of the walk with our God. He teaches us to win, a little at a time. This is the pattern that has been established from long ago.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

We can learn, a little along, from the small victories. From this we learn to be the warriors we were always meant to be.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are King. You are our Deliverer. Praise the name Yahuah! Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Heal us up that we might serve You. Deliver us from the evil that has stolen and continues to steal from Your people. Restore one hundred times one hundredfold. We ask these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Body Blow, Body Blow

When I was much younger, there were various types of arcade games. Many hours were spent in the coffee shop late at night playing… pinball. Those were the early games. Then came simple video games, then more complex. I still remember one fighting game where when you punched the opponent to the body it would say “body blow” and that was considered putting a real hurt on the opponent. So why am I writing that here? Because although we fight differently in the spiritual world, we still want to put a hurt on the enemy.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

We see here that if we learn to take on the whole armor of God, we can deliver those body blows to the enemy.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are King. Praise the name Yahuah! You are our only Hope. Send us today Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal us up from the inside. Deliver us from the thief that is killing us and stealing from us. We need You now. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.

Before It Is Ever Fought

Sun Su is attributed with many sayings. One that is quite often quoted is, “Every battle is won or lost before it is ever fought.” One of the meanings of this statement speaks to preparedness. We must be prepared to fight our spiritual enemy as well. And when we are, then we will win. Not because of us, but because of God. The battle is His.

2 Chronicles 20:14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation;
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

There are several interesting points about the story quoted here. One is that this is the only recorded instance of this prophet actually speaking. But there are countless times where we see the Father defending His children. The saying is true, but Yahuah said it first.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King. Praise the name Yahuah! Send us today Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins. Heal us from the inside. Deliver us from the evil that steals and destroys. restore one hundred times one hundred fold. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.
