Fighting Back

When I first began to write here this morning, I was planning to title this piece “Fighting Back Daily” and then, I realized something. It is not just daily. When one hears “daily” it is possible to think we are saying something like, once each day. I know that, for example, I try to get up and spend the first moments of the morning praying and writing here. However, there are at least a couple problems with that line of thinking. First, it does not appear that the morning is the beginning of the day, according to scripture.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

At the very beginning, there was darkness upon the face of the earth, and light was created. God separated them, and there was a cycle of a day. This is further supported by what David said in Psalms.

Psalms 55:16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.
17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
18 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
19 God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

Here we see David referring to prayer for a one day period by saying, “evening, and morning, and at noon…” It would appear that the day is to begin with the evening. Now, the question that comes to mind is, why is this important. I do not know, other than it is written. I do know that for me and for many this is a foreign concept. What would it mean to us to think of the day differently? How would that thinking impact our lives? What I do know is our Father, thinks and acts differently from us, and yet we are to be like Him.

Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Our Father seems to be saying to us to think like He thinks, and to make our way (speaking and acting) like His way. I agree.

Let’s make our thoughts and our actions like His.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King. Praise the name YAH! Let Your kingdom come here. Let Your will be done here, as it is in heaven. Send us now Your overwhelming provision such that it overflows to those around us, while it is called today. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed or transgressed against us. Deliver us from the evil here. Wipe away thoughts and memories of evil done to us or by us. In their place let there be only thoughts and memories of You. Heal our hearts and minds, and heal our bodies. Restore unto Your people one thousandfold, and thousands of thousands, all that has been taken or held back in any way, and the more besides. Send in quickly the $424,523,962.53 that the kingdom might go forth speedily. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). We ask all these things of You, Father, in Your name YAH. We ask all these things in the name YAH Yeshuah. Amen.
