Thankful For Spiritual Weapons

Some nights are filled with restless sleep. There can be various reasons. Last night was one of those nights for me. It is much like waking up in the morning with my mind instantly running a million miles an hour. In the night, however, sometimes the enemy takes advantage of the fact that I am tired. He will try to plant thoughts in my mind that I do not need to be thinking. In the past one way I overcame those thoughts was to say out loud that I follow Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Or “plead the blood” of Yeshuah (Jesus). Last night, however, a scripture came to mind, about using an weapon to fight spiritually.

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

An interesting part about this scripture is the reference to armor. Obviously Paul is making claims about spiritual warfare in this passage. The sword of the Spirit is for offense. The word for “word” is rhema, which means the utterance. Paul is very clear about what prayer in the Spirit is.

1 Corinthians 14:13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

We see that for Paul, prayer in the Spirit, the word of God, is in an unknown tongue. Last night and again this morning this played out for me. As I was being attacked, I simply prayed in the Spirit, and I was able to defeat attack. I actually slept the best I had all night. And when I did it after waking up, I was able to get a clear mind! Praise YAH! I am very thankful that I have this spiritual weapon. What I am now learning is when and how to use it.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King. Praise and bless the name YAH! Let Your kingdom come here. Let Your will be done here as it is in heaven. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed or transgressed against us. Deliver us from the evil here. Wash whiter than snow our thoughts and memories, blotting out all evil done to us or by us. Let us have only thoughts and memories of You. Restore unto Your people one thousandfold all the good that has been taken or held back in any way, and let us plunder those that enslved us, just as in the first Exodus. Send in quickly the $424,523,962.53 that the kingdom might go forward mightily. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). We ask all these things of You, Father, in Your name, YAH. We ask all these things in the name of YAH Yeshuah! Amen.
