Reviving Revival
It is not an uncommon thing to hear about revival in the Christian community. For the most part the story of revival comes to us as just that, a story from another day and time. This morning as I was considering this point, I realized that I was considering just revival on a grand, group scale. But the the thought came to me that revival really can happen at the individual level. The more I considered this, the more I realized that it should really begin with me. Ultimately, I can only be involved in revival for myself. Maybe a better way to say it is I need to be responsible for me. For sure, I am not responsible to God for other people’s relationships with Him. As I am reading what I wrote, it seems a bit cluttered.
Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Being human, it is easy for us to lose focus and walk in a way that is not pleasing to our Father. In each of those moments, we have a chance at revival. At each of those moments we can revive our hearts, and cry out to our Father that our hearts would be purified to guard His commandments within our hearts. We need Him.
Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are our King! Praise the name Yah! Let Your will be done here as it is in heaven. Give us today Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed or transgressed against us. Wipe away all of the thoughts and memories of evil done to us or by us. In their place let there be thoughts and memories of only You. Heal us on the inside, then heal us on the outside. Restore one hundredfold all that is good that has been taken or held back in any way from Your people, and the more besides. Hear our cry, Father. Revive our hearts. Deliver us in this life. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). WE ask these thing of You, Father, in Your name, Yah. Amen.
