Creative Thinking
Humans have the ability to think in pictures and in words. When we are “day dreaming” we are often observing a moment as if it were a movie playing in our heads. We can also be thinking in sentences or conversations. This morning as I consider this ability, I have to ask myself why this is so. This is the way our Father has created us to be. Scriptures say we are made in His image.
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Here in the Hebrew the word image means something that looks the same. The word for likeness here can mean appearance but also means similar in nature or acts like something else. Given that our Father is a creative being, it seems reasonable to assume that this trait of thinking in pictures and words comes to us from Him. If this is true, then it would seem this capability must be tied to our purpose of dominion. It would likely also apply to acting out the instructions we were given.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
It also leads to the admonition we have been given to renewing our minds.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
When we are born again we are renewed. But here he is already speaking to believers. It appears that there is a process for us to go through as believers that changes us into a person that can test something to see what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. It seems that one of the reasons we do this is to become a living sacrifice to our Father. The message from this part of the letter to the Romans seems to be that we are here by God’s grace and the righteousness of faith that comes from confessing our sin and believing in Yeshuah (Jesus) as the One that can save us. This requires believing that God is, and that He rewards those that seek Him. This is the definition of the word faith.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
And we receive this faith by words/speech that is heard.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
If we read this in context, it appears that this word that we hear comes from our own mouths. Let us therefore control and renew our minds with our own speaking.
Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King! Praise the name Yahuah! Let Your will be done in this earth as it is in the heavens. Send us now Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed and transgressed against us. Deliver us from the evil here. Father, this is Your kingdom, and it will take Your power to have it glorify You for ever and ever. We need You to come in Your power today Father. Restore all that has been taken or held back in any way from Your people, and that one hundredfold. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.
