Creative Power Is Comforting
So often I think about how we have these amazing abilities as human beings. The power to reason, the power to think creatively, the ability to feel strong emotions – all these abilities must be for a reason. Today as I pondered these abilities I was trying to decide how to use them, if they were a good thing, etc. I began with our original purpose.
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
We see here that our purpose is to run the world on behalf of our Father. It would seem likely therefore that anything that we do that promotes that is a positive thing. But as in all things we can get off course.
James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
James makes it clear that this power to rule over the earth can go astray when we do not first draw nigh to God. Our purpose is to promote His kingdom. Jesus (Yeshuah) spoke of this as well.
Matthew 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
So, it appears that we are to take these abilities and focus them on God’s kingdom, and all that we need will come our way.
There can be great comfort in know that our Father has provided a means for us to live life abundantly, both here and in the hereafter.
Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You are our King! Praise the name Yahuah! Let Your will be here among us as it is in the heavens. Give us today Your overwhelming abundant provision that it might overflow to those around us. Forgive us our trespasses and transgressions, and help us all to forgive those that have trespassed and transgressed against us. Cleanse and heal our hearts and minds, and wash away any remnants of evil or evil doings. Creat in us a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within us. Help us to know Your joy. Restore all that has been taken or held back in any way from Your people, and the more besides. Show us a token for good, that all men might know that You alone are God, and that You alone have done this. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.
