Yom Ri-shon, Shevat 9, 6001 – January 8, 2017
Peace Is Available
There is an inner drive in all of us to “find the answer” I believe. Sometimes we know it exists. At other times we haven’t a clue consciously, but we keep stumbling into life’s challenges. Other times we may think we have found it. Recently a friend of mine came to realize in his later years that he was in the dark about this very point. He has prayed for good things for many years, and while on what has appeared to be a significant upward swing, he still was having personal issues. He finally found it was because he is an alcoholic – his words, not mine. Just yesterday he revealed to me that at the heart of it is selfishness. It was something he had accused of others, only to discover it was him. Sadly, it may have cost him his marriage. Yet he has hope, because he found the cause of many of the woes in his life. His problem was lack of recognition that his life is unmanageable on his own. Even though he has been a believer for many years, he lacked complete surrender that can only come when we face this fact. He now has a peace that I have never seen in him, and I have known him since childhood. He is also sad for the people he has hurt, and that is a sadness I have not seen in him before either. When we speak, I can only offer him my friendship. He just smiles, and offers me scriptures that help him.
Psalms 119:116 Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
117 Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.
Today, please pray for my friend, as I do. Pray with him for those that have been harmed by his disease. And pray that if by any chance, that he and his family might be restored, and that same restoration would come to us all.
Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our King! Bless the name Yahuah! Help us to walk in Your will that is in the heavens, that we might shine Your light in this earth. Send us today Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us our sins, and remove them from us as far as the east is from the west. Help us to be selfless. Heal our hearts, minds, bodies, spirits, and souls. Restore unto Your people one hundred times one hundred times one hundred times one hundredfold that which has been taken or held back in any way from Your people, and the more besides. Rise up my King, and heal what only You can, that families can be at peace and be made whole, in every way. We ask all these things in the name of our Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.
