When Hope Glimmers

We are created in the image of our Creator. Sometimes it is good to remember this point. There can be times in our lives when we can become overwhelmed with life’s circumstances. For me, it happens when I wake up. For some, it may happen during the work day. Still others may react to communications like the mail or the phone. When that moment arrives, what can we do? One thing that I have found helpful is to begin to praise the name of Yahuah (Lord) and call out to Him. David did this.

Psalms 18:3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

For some time now I have noticed that I have a tendency to rely on Psalms for encouragement and understanding when I am trying to encourage myself and others. Paul also says this to us.

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Recently as I was going through this one morning, I noticed that in the process of doing this there would come a turning point. In the beginning there would be that sense of being overwhelmed. It drove me more to focus on the words of praise to Yahuah (Lord) that I was speaking. As the intensity grew, there came a point where the negatives diminished and the reality of who my Creator was began to sink in and immediately that gap widened. We all have these moments if we think about it. When that hits, it is as if those thoughts have texture. They become very real. I like to call them that glimmer of hope, that moment when I realize that my Creator Yahuah (Lord) is not only bigger than anything else, He is on my side.

Today, if you find yourself in one of those moments that seem overwhelming, cry out to Yahuah (Lord) and praise His name. Hang in for that glimmer of hope.

Prayer
Father, we exalt You. You alone are our Great King. We praise Your name, Yahuah (Lord). We imagine Your kingdom and are most blessed. Send us today Your overwhelming blessing. Forgive us our sins, for we are but dust. Heal up our hearts from the pains of the past. Deliver us from those that would steal from us what You alone have provided. How long will they oppress us, O Yahuah (Lord), and try to eliminate Your people? Come with a strong hand and outstretched arm and crush the works of their hands. Drive them away. Show Yourself strong on our behalf. We ask all these things in the name of Messiah Yeshuah (Jesus). Amen.
