Little Comforts
This morning when my daughter got up she did not say anything. I was preparing our evening meal in the crock pot while talking to my wife on the phone. My daughter just cam over and hugged me until I put my arm around her. Like all children, like us, sometimes we just want to feel the comfort of of our Father holding us when we first wake up. As I continue with the day, this make me think of the little comforts we all seek. Not the least of these perhaps is that comfort from knowing the Father watches over us.
Psalms 3:5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.
He also encourages us to do good, and will help us to do it. He sustains us.
Psalms 34:13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Today, if we are to feel comfort, we need only look up to see our loving Father holding us up, like a big hug from heaven.
Prayer
Father, we exalt You our King. Let the whole earth praise Your name! Put Your kingdom in the earth today Father. We love You. Send us today Your overwhelming provision. Forgive us when we make mistakes. Show us a token for good that all men might know that You alone are God. In Jesus’ (Yeshua’s) name. Amen.
