It’s Not The Size Of The Mountain
Yesterday I was thinking about how it is necessary to cross some very high mountains to get from the Midwest to the west coast. It reminded me of the challenges we have in life. The can seem like some pretty tall mountains to cross. But our walk with God is not dependent on how big our mountains and problems are. It is dependent on our willingness to commit our lives to Him and trust that He commits to us. Scriptures speak of this in several ways.
Psalms 104:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
3 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
8 They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
God set the mountains and the waters in their place, and He rides above them. If we ride with God, we ride above them too.
Mark 11:22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Here Jesus said that a mountain itself will move, if we have the faith to believe it. In both these scriptures there is much else to consider. However, it is clear that God has power over the mountains in our life, and if we submit to Him and walk with Him, we do too!
